I'm a Little Bit Addicted to PSE!!! Free Vintage Graphics

I Thought this could be a pretty background for ATC or whatever you'd like. It is the cover of a very old box of cards! "They" just don't make things the way they used to! On that note, I love Photoshop Elements and am so glad that "they" made it!!!

I Feel Like a Jack @*!..Here's some free graphics!

Before I start explaining myself, I thought I would butter you up with this beautiful travel brochure image that I found at http://www.travelbrochuregraphics.com/ collection of David Levine. It is an amazing site with a huge collection. These images are not for commercial use (more on that later) See his website for more info and fabulous images!

Now, on to saving face...

While out junkin' I came across this fabulous book from the 60's called The I Hate To Housekeep Book by Peg Bracken. It is illustrated by Hilary Knight the illustrator of the Eloise book (everyone loves her, right?) I must find Peg Bracken's other books and purchase them immediately because I have found my perfect match in her writing!

I find myself apologizing weekly about not being timely with my posts, so taking my inspiration from the late Mrs. Bracken I have a few things that will make you and me feel better.

  • When I don't post you can judge me and you can feel superior because you post everyday, which in turn makes me feel better for making you feel better about yourself.

  • You can see that it is a bit annoying when I don't post because you were waiting for a new image. This will motivate you to post consistently for your readers by my bad example.

  • Or you can just forgive me and see that you are not alone in having a busy and distracting life. Which would, once again, make us both feel better because forgiveness is really healing for both parties as long as it is genuine.
More images! Quit yapping!

Some times things just get in the way, like NTO-SKRNL viruses and um, kids, and laundry and such. Just not good for my creative mind, you know? I am going to have to file an extension on the giveaway being that only 4 (2 being anonymous) people commented :( I will be back, though...

What Was She Thinking?...Free GIVEAWAY!

OK, let's talk about this postcard a bit...
What are those eye rollin' eyes telling us about her thoughts at this precious moment:

"Oh please, if I have to take another photograph with this dead deer, I'll just about die!"

"Did someone put flowers on my head because I'm not having it!"

"Duh! Doesn't everyone know that tying your hat around your neck is unflattering and outdated?"

"I am so not the 'tip toe through the tulips' type..."

"I am so running away with this deer when we are finished!"

"I need a shotof Jagermeister"

in your most sarcastic voice"um, yeah, this totally rocks...Thanks, Mom!"

HEYYYYY (light bulb appearing above my head) I got an idea:

You submit your best quote for what the little miss is thinking and you can win a little something from me. Yes! A GIVEAWAY!!! My first ever! How exciting!

The rules:

No cussing (I know it takes some fun out but this is a PG blog as my children read it)
U.S. only (sorry, this is just the first giveaway so I have to stay familiar)

ummmmm, that's about it.

What? What's that you say? Ohhhhhhh, what will I send you? I am not sure yet, but it will be something vintage and lovely for sure. Probably... a treasure of mixed ephemera, yes! That sounds good.

I almost forgot! If you like this image and want to copy it, click on it and it will open in a new window. Then right click and click "save as".

The Mother of all Mother Vintage Postcards..For Freeeeee

I finally found the perfect image for you! My daughter and I hit our usual places and came upon
this sweet vintage postcard at High Cotton Antiques in New Braunfels, TX.
Not only is the shop adorable, the proprietor is quite lovely as well. The card is a bit funny because it shows the relationship between the mother and daughter rather well (the daughter must have been a teenager!)
"Dear Mother I
guess you think I
don't want to write
but I don't know what
to write except I
want to see you all."
Belle
Did you detect an attitude - or a longing? I am sure her mother was on her case about writing! If you like these images just right click and click "save as". Also, do as a mother says and sign up as a follower on my blog. You'll be happy you did.

Fun Mother's Day Project! Free Graphics

This is my wonderful Mother nestled in my first ever digital scrapbook attempt!
BEWARE UPON CLICKING BECAUSE IT IS HUGE (not you, Mom, the file!)
She probably won't like this picture, but I think she is beautiful.
I managed to work on this today as I was trying to get rid of a horrible
virus on our brand spankin' new laptop!
(DARN! I want a MAC so bad, just don't have the
Mcbucks!)
I think it is only fair to let you know that I think
the Mother page is a little bit corny and will probably make my Mom
laugh before it would make her cry. I am not a true "scrapbooker" as I am too unorganized
and my brain just doesn't work that way. There. My confession is now on the table.

Here is the original of my Mom and I when I was a baby.

(I really hope you didn't fall for that!)

Can you tell we are related?
P.S. If you want the lay out for the Mother page, let me know and I will email it to you.

For my Mom...Hi Mom! Free Graphic

After speaking on the phone with my amazing Mom, I was inspired to create a little something special for her. (let's hope I get it to the post office!Sorry Mom!) She always encouraged me to make her and others gifts as I was growing up. I don't think I would have my creative mind had she not done so. So, here's to you, Mom!! Now, what to do with it? Any ideas aside from a bookmark?
I created this from the vintage image from 1905 below. Feel free to use either graphic.

SHHH...Another Lovely Free Vintage Image

This darling stereoview is titled "First Time at Church". I know just how she feels sometimes.(no offense to Pastor D!)
Don't you just love these hand tinted photos? Who was this precious little girl?
Curiosity about these images fuels my addiction! I can never get enough! NEVERRRRR! (Waa haa haa haaa!) Which is to your benefit.
Excuse me a minute. AAAARGH! I just can't think as we are on "Swine Flu (oops is that politically incorrect) lock down" and I have this little man asking to get on here. "Can I get on in...how long before I can get on?...now?... How 'bout now?--- What about now? Are you almost done? Can someone come over and play? What's for lunch?"
Don't they understand...I am "working"!!! (Pulling on hair)
Until next time, my friends. Pray for my sanity, as you can see it is slipping away into the snorty snort snorts of ye old svine flu!
