Swine Flu Lockdown-Not Fun...New Free Graphic? FUN!

I love "before & afters" but sometimes I am too impatient to wait for the "after". I thought I would post my "after" before, just because I am funny that way. I am having so much fun with Photoshop and I know this is just the tip of the iceberg. You HAVE to try it!

We are on "lockdown" for the swine Flu here in New Braunfels, Texas. No school until the 11th of May! This is the first time I have ever seen anything like this. Of course, I started up with a sore throat on Saturday and told my husband (very seriously) on Sunday that I had a strange urge to start snorting. He didn't think it was that funny, but I sure did!

I think it would be fun to make face masks that looked like little piggy snouts! Or at least bling some out.

So the kids are going to be home and I might come down with insanity flu. Just kidding, I just don't want them fighting! Hey, maybe I can make money and post them on YouTube!

Here is the "before" picture of the very adorable ad from 1905:

Please let me know what you think and if there is anything you would like me to try to find for you. I LOVE hunting for treasures!

Good night, sleep tight, and don't let the swine flu bite!!!!

Free Puppies...Just Kidding...Free Vintage Graphics!

I bought this very old print because she reminded me of a very dear friend of mine. Of course, I kept it for myself. Does anyone know who painted this or what she is called? I love this so much but need to repair the frame. This is an actual photo of my print.

I am sorry I am so tired and boring tonight. I have been up since 4am. Just one of those crazy days. Hope to "see" you back tomorrow!

Happy Earth Day! Free Graphics All of The Time!

What a beautiful earth God has made! I hope you are all doing your part today and everyday in trying to preserve it. I would definitely honor my friend A. (you know who you are!) as my "greenest friend".

Here are five easy things you can do if you haven't already:
  1. Change your incandescent light bulbs to energy-saving compact fluorescent light bulbs. Not only will you be helping our earth, but it will save you money!
  2. This is easy but so many of us are guilty - unplug your cell phone charger when finished using it. If you want to do more, unplug all power draining appliances when not in use.
  3. Use reusable shopping bags. I actually prefer it as more products fit in my bags and they are easier to haul inside! I store them in my car so I won't forget them. You can also get some really cute ones here : http://rockscissorpaper.stores.yahoo.net/
  4. Turn off the lights when you leave a room. (I say this one often to the kids and I am guilty of forgetting!)
  5. Buy reusable water bottles. I haven't done this yet, but plan on it! The bottles from Waterweek are great!

Happy Earth Day, Happy Day!!!

P.S. I thought in only apropos to include some bees!

Isn't this adorable, I can hear the music now.
Let's call this "Tra La La"...

I was going to post an image of some tres faconnable vintage lady in honor of the UIW fashion show/luncheon I attended today in San Antonio, but... I didn't. I figured y'all might be sick of "the ladies". Instead I came across this darling silhouette and thought this was the perfect little hit for my graphic addicted friends...

Was I right? If you want the brush, email me for the file. For the graphic just do the norm- click on the image, right click and click "save as".

BY THE WAY...(jumping up and down) I bought my domain name! I am all atingle about it!

It's SUPERDELICIOUS. I love that word because my son asked me, "Do you think Dad is superdelicious?" Plus, the commercial is pretty cute, too. No more middleman for my little addicts! http://www.thegraphicaddict.com/
Original image from old scrapbook full of graphic treasures!

FREE LOVE, FREE GRAPHIC!!!!

While trying to think of a fabulous vintage image to feed your graphic habit, I was rummaging through all of my favorite places to stash such things. Lo and behold I stumbled upon a very tattered 1905 edition (Hurray, no legal issues!) of The Red Book. Inside lay this handsome little cupid! Don't you just LOVE cupid! He has been waiting many many years to show himself. He was scribbled on before he was in my posession. Isn't he lucky that he will be in the hands of so many graphic addicts! To copy Cupid, just click on him and he will open on a new page. Right click and click "Save as" VOILA! Cupid is all yours. If you use him, please give me a mention and also, send me a pic!! I would love to see a creation.

Here is Cupid's uncropped undiffused image. Look at all of the lovely ladies. What beautiful complexions they have.

There are some more really great ads in the book, so I will post another one tomorrow.

LOVEly Sunday to you all.

I am going to get a little blonde, "gettin' my hur done!" fer the "time time, Summer - time" I know it is Spring, but soon it will be 100 degrees here in Texas, I just know it!! And 100 degrees to me says "SUMMER" To save milady just click on her and she will open on a new page, right click and click "save as".

O! Say Does That Star-Spangled Banner Yet Wave...

I LOVE MY COUNTRY...
I hope you do, too. I was at Emma's volleyball tournament talking to a man from another country (don't want to name names but it starts with a B) He gave me a great appreciation of our country in a small way! He explained that he has his children living here for a better education. You see, they do not have sports in their schools in his country. It's those little things we overlook and take for granted. SO QUIT COMPLAINING (if you are) AND ENJOY A LITTLE GAME OF HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL! (I know, wrong time of year, but you get the point) I scanned this fabulous vintage postcard for you to use for your projects...digital scrapbooking, mixed media, card making, collage, whatever! I hope you like it...and GOD BLESS AMERICA!

Having Fun With Photoshop...It's Superdelicious! FREE GRAPHIC

I am having the best time with Photoshop Elements 7! I downloaded the free trial and am feeding my graphics addiction like you wouldn't believe. Adobe just sent me an email that it is on sale for Mother's Day so I am very excited about that (I know, doesn't take much!)

So here is a sample of something fun: A beautiful vintage urn made into a brush. If you are not familiar with Photoshop, think of it as a stamp of sorts. If you like the urn and want it for yourself, send me an email and I will send you the file. Eventually, I want to have sets of brushes, but I am getting ahead of myself. The image of the urn is for you to do with what you'd like. I hope you like it! Just click on it and it will open on a new page. Right click and click "save as".
ENJOY :)

Ode To Transformation-FREE GRAPHIC!

I scanned these beautiful silk embroidered moths for you from a tiny old apron that my grandmother had. I think she probably intended to frame it. I am finding myself to be a bit like her in that way. I have these wonderful visions of what will be, but sometimes (because I already know how it will look) I never get to it. There is just SO much to do, and so many other enticing things to distract me! I did already mention my A.D.D. so you understand, right?

I hope you like this bit of loveliness from the past. Of course, the picture cannot do the precious hands that worked so intently justice.

I will include a picture of the apron...

See how tiny it is?

I wonder what tantalizing images I will find for us tomorrow...Sweet Dreams!

SURPRI-I-ISE!!! FREE GRAPHICS!

Now why didn't I think of this before? I LOVE graphics, you love graphics, we all scream for graphics...especially when they are free!

I admit it, when I first started this blog, I didn't really know what I was doing. I still don't really know what I am doing, but I have learned an eency bit. Don't get me wrong, I still love the Relacor. It makes me "happy". But nothing compares to finding a beautiful vintage image. I don't know what it is...It just pleases me. Is it the nostalgia? The soft colors? The person within the image? I am not sure. I just know I love it and because of that I am going to share, share share! Then maybe I will post more often, which in turn will generate more traffic, which in turn would be just dandy.

So, my dear friends, as always, please tell me what you think. If you are on this journey with me, you are going to see this blog transform. You are going to hear my joy. You are going to appreciate the beauty of an image once lost.
So if you find yourself moving into a land of both shadow and substance, of things and ideas. You've just crossed over into

"The Graphic Addict - Visual Rehab Freely Given"

The image above was made by yours truly for my son's fourth birthday party invitation. If you use it I would appreciate a mention and would love to see what you create. I am going to include the original photo as well...

Aren't they sweet?!
TO SAVE THESE IMAGES, JUST CLICK ON THEM AND THEY WILL OPEN ON A NEW PAGE. RIGHT CLICK AND CLICK "SAVE AS"...EASY!

Still Smiling With Relacor

This is a picture of my friend and I at Warrenton. I collect loving cups and would have loved to have this one but it was $600! Instead, we took a picture which I changed up for her 40th birthday!

I know I have been horrible at keeping up with my blog and I apologize. I just haven't felt very funny lately and that means I am not feeling like myself.

I have decided to change my blog to something that interests me much more...GRAPHICS! Especially vintage. I am going to post and share graphics for you to use for whatever you chose (except for selling!) I will not charge you a dime for these graphics and they will start from my own collection. I am not an expert on the copyright matter, but will do my best to make sure that it has expired (100 years plus) or is royalty free. Let me know what you think and I am open to ALL suggestions, just don't be too mean!

I can't leave you hanging with the Relacor, so I will keep you posted. So far I have noticed it has a great affect on my mood, which is wonderful for those who are around me. I am not sure about my belly...hmmm
